Hot Work Safety Training focuses on controlling fire and explosion risks during welding, cutting, grinding, and other spark-producing tasks. It introduces participants to hot work permits, hazard assessment, fire watch responsibilities, and workplace fire prevention techniques. The training emphasizes procedural compliance, PPE usage, and safe workspace preparation. By highlighting accident case studies and root causes, it encourages a proactive approach to fire risk mitigation. The course ensures that workers involved in hot work activities understand their responsibilities and operate safely under monitored conditions to prevent injuries and property damage.

What Will You Learn?
  • This course teaches you how to assess, control, and minimize risks during hot work operations such as welding, brazing, cutting, and grinding. You’ll learn about the hot work permitting process, safe work zone setup, isolating flammable materials, and ensuring adequate ventilation. Fire watch duties and emergency response protocols are emphasized, along with the proper use of fire extinguishers and portable gas cylinders. Participants are introduced to PPE requirements, inspection of tools and equipment, and safe shutdown procedures. Case studies are used to demonstrate real-life incidents and highlight critical preventive measures. On completion, workers and supervisors will be capable of executing or overseeing hot work safely and in compliance with fire safety regulations.

  • Previous exposure to hot work activities or technical/mechanical work environments preferred.
