Professor Dr. M. H. Faruquee
Chief Advisor
Professor Dr. M. H. Faruquee, MBBS (Rajshahi Medical College, 1986) and MPH in Occupational & Environmental Health (NIPSOM, 1997), is Professor and Head at BUHS. He has 24 years of research experience, over 16 years of teaching (14 at university level), and 25 years in administration.
His research spans occupational and environmental health, nutrition, disability services, and community development. Dr. Faruquee has contributed to books such as Health Impact Assessment of Air Pollution and Hepatitis B Virus Infection Among Garment Workers, and has edited Arsenic, Water Contamination and Health Hazards.
He developed numerous training modules on health and environment and worked as a consultant with WHO, UNICEF, UNDP, ADB, World Bank, DANIDA, DFID, JICA, WaterAid, World Vision, and GIZ. He is Life Member of BMA, Bangladesh Private Medical Practitioners Association, Public Health Association, and BAPA, and serves as General Secretary of Doctors for Health and Environment. He was Assistant Executive Editor of BMA Journal.

Atikuz Zamman Chowdhury
Managing Director
Atikuz Zamman Chowdhury, MPH, OSHP, CMT, is a seasoned HSE professional with over 16 years of experience across power plants, substations, airports, offshore, oil & gas, and infrastructure projects.
He has held key roles including Project HSE Manager at TBEA Co., Ltd. (DPDC) and HSE Manager at HSIA Terminal 3 (ADC), along with positions on Metro Rail (Line-6), DWASA Water Plant with Hyundai, and Chevron’s facility engineering projects with Spie Oil & Gas. His core competencies include Brownfield/Greenfield safety, SOP, SWP, HIRA, HAZOP, emergency management, and OHSE sustainability.
He holds an MPH in Occupational Health & Safety, B.Sc. in CSE, and a UK Diploma in Workplace Safety, and is certified in NEBOSH, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and OSHA, in addition to being a Certified Master Trainer. Atikuz has led HSE efforts on 32+ global projects and is recognized for promoting zero-incident cultures and receiving multiple “Best Employee” awards.

Md Arif Al Mamun
Director, Operations & Logistics
Arif is a dynamic entrepreneur and seasoned Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) professional with over a decade of experience managing international construction projects with globally renowned companies such as Daewoo E&C, Samsung C&T, and Aviation Dhaka Consortium (ADC). With a strong foundation in project safety and compliance, he transitioned into entrepreneurship in 2022, establishing and expanding ventures in construction, consumer goods, corporate trading, and travel services.
Arif holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Management from a reputed private university and possesses multiple professional certifications, including NEBOSH International General Certificate, IOSH Managing Safely, OSHA (U.S. Standards), and a Diploma in Fire Science & Safety.
He is also a key contributor to the Rural Empower Professional Skill Development & Research Institute, where he applies his industry expertise to empower youth, enhance workforce readiness, and support national progress through innovation, capacity building, and leadership development.
Mohammad Kamrul Hasan
Director, Workforce Development
Mohammad Kamrul Hasan, with a Bachelor of Commerce and Diploma in Library Science, plus an Advanced Certificate in Workplace Health & Safety (Singapore), has 13 years’ HSE experience in tunneling, MRT, and construction across UAE, Singapore, and Bangladesh. He specializes in training, compliance, and risk management for multinational projects.
Manik Kumar Ghosh
Director, Finance & Administration
Manik Kumar Ghosh is a highly experienced HSE professional with over 14 years in the field, including managerial roles in large-scale international projects across Qatar, UAE, and Bangladesh. He holds multiple certifications including NEBOSH IGC, ISO 45001 & 14001 Lead Auditor, and IOSH. Manik has successfully contributed to power plants, nuclear energy, oil & gas, and airport infrastructure projects. His strengths include policy development, risk assessment, compliance with OSHA/ILO standards, and behavior-based safety. He is recognized for his leadership, auditing expertise, and commitment to cultivating strong safety cultures onsite.
A F M Fazle Rahim
Director, Education & Training
Mr. A F M Fazle Rahim holds a B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST), Dhaka. He also completed a CCNA certification from AIUB and pursued an MBA at North South University. With 16 years of experience in construction, he has expertise in Health, Environment, and Safety (HSE) as well as engineering roles.
He began his career at Incepta Pharmaceuticals in 2009 before joining Chevron Bangladesh as an HSE Specialist in 2012, where he later became Lead HSE Specialist. In 2015, he served as HOD at Next Spaces Ltd., then rejoined Chevron in 2019 as an O&M Competency Trainer. In 2022, he joined Dekko ISHO Group as Operations Manager and later ADC (Aviation Dhaka Consortium) under Samsung C&T as HSE Manager.
He has trained extensively in safety and collaborated with engineers from over 30 countries, enhancing global project standards.
K.H. Sakil Ahmed
Director, Inspection & Compliance
Kh. Shakil Ahmed is a seasoned Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) professional with over 16 years of diverse experience in the oil & gas, EPC, and shipyard sectors. He has made significant contributions to high-profile projects like the Summit Power Plant-II, General Electric (GE) Power, Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport Expansion and FW under Chevron BPC. His expertise includes HSE management, regulatory compliance, risk assessments (JSA, HAZOP), emergency preparedness, and safety training.
Shakil holds an MPH in Occupational Health & Safety and a B.Sc. in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, along with specialized training in NEBOSH, ISO 14001 auditing, fire safety, basic workplace construction safety, earth equipment operational safety and incident investigation. His proactive leadership has driven safety excellence across multinational projects, aligning with international standards such as OSHA, JICA, IFC, and World Bank guidelines. Recognized for fostering a strong safety culture, he has effectively led HSE initiatives and audits globally.
Md Atiqur Rahman

Mr. Atiqur Rahman, with a B.Sc. and M.S. in Environmental Science, holds NEBOSH, IOSH, EOSH, and ISO lead auditor certifications. He has worked
as Environmental Specialist/ Manager in projects like Jamuna Railway Bridge, HSIA Terminal 3, and Metro Rail, and is experienced in training, chemical management, and GIS.

Amitabh Chakraborty, a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering graduate and Certified Marine Electrical Engineer, has over 20 years’ HSE expertise in marine offshore oil & gas, power, and infrastructure projects. He led HSE strategies for Samsung C&T, Obayashi, Sembcorp, and Keppel, ensuring compliance, training, and safety in high-risk operations.
