Learners will align organizational strategies with SBT and net-zero commitments. They’ll apply best practices for emissions reduction and monitoring. Upon completion, they’ll lead strategic climate action within their organizations.

Requirements

• Science-Based Targets (SBTs), developed by the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi), and Net-Zero commitments require companies to set specific, measurable, and ambitious goals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. SBTs ensure emission reduction targets are aligned with what science dictates is necessary to limit global warming, while Net-Zero commitments involve a public pledge to achieve net-zero emissions by a specific timeframe, often 2050 or earlier.

Audience

• CDP and the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) target companies, financial institutions, and sub-national governments to drive emissions reduction and net-zero strategies. These entities are encouraged to set science-based targets, which are emissions reduction targets aligned with climate science to limit global warming. CDP also focuses on empowering investors, companies, cities, and governments to make Earth-positive decisions through its extensive dataset on environmental action.
